“Rīgas satiksme” to offer free guide’s service in Retro tram in Night of Museums

On May 21, as part of the Night of Museums, “Rīgas satiksme” will be offering free guide’s services in the Retro tram, and the number of runs of the old tram will be also increased. The free guide’s services will be available on two runs departing from the Ausekļa Street terminal at 17:05 and 18:50, as well as on two runs departing from Mežaparks at 18:15 and 19:55.

The Retro tram will run by route Ausekļa Street – Radio Circle – Mežaparks and back to the terminal in Ausekļa Street. The guide will tell about surrounding buildings, their historic significance, as well as about the history of public transport in Riga. The services of the guide will be available for free, but fare will have to be paid as usually, buying tickets from the Retro tram’s driver for EUR 2.00.

Riga’s Retro tram is a 1909-1910 model fully restored in 1982, based on old drawings and photos. The tram has 18 seats and 10 places for standing.
